Fr. Steve went on to study electrical engineering and computer science at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. His first job upon graduation was with Texas Instruments in McKinney, TX. Within a year, in 1989, he transferred to a TI plant in Colorado Springs. After undergoing a conversion experience, Fr. Parlet finally decided to answer that call to the priesthood. He spent six years in seminary, four at the former St. Thomas Theological Seminary in Denver, followed by two at St. Paul Seminary in St. Paul. His first semester at St. Paul was spent in Israel. Upon ordination in 1997, Fr. Steve served as parochial vicar of St. Patrick's Parish. He was assigned to Corpus Christi on July 1, 2000 and became pastor on January 2, 2001. Fr. Steve's favorite hobbies include hunting, fishing, back-packing, skiing, racquetball, working with computers and riding his motorcycle. He is the youngest of four children, with two brothers and one sister. Unfortunately "Buddy", his dog (pictured) died in the spring of 2004. He has a new dog, Argyle.
