At Corpus Christi, we are committed to providing ongoing formation experiences
for the adults in our community. This is a top priority for the Church,
and so it is for us.
We offer a number of excellent adult programs on various topics.
For 2008-09, these include:
Why Catholic?: A Journey through the Catechism
- Why Catholic
covers the entire Catechism of the Catholic Church
by breaking it into its four major parts: Creed, Sacraments, Morality, and
Prayer. It utilizes small faith groups which meet at parishioner's homes.
The groups meet for six weeks in the fall, and for the six weeks during Lent.
We are currently half way through the catechism and will be beginning the
section on morality the week of October 12th, 2008. It is NOT too
late to join us. I'll let you in on a little secret...most people LOVE
the section on prayer...so join us now and get established in a group!
The Bible Timeline: The Story of
Salvation...part of The Great Adventure: A Journey through the Bible
Series

The Bible Timeline is a DVD-based program which features Jeff Cavins of EWTN
fame presenting the entirety of the bible chronologically. He covers all
of salvation history from the fall of Adam and Eve, to Christ and the beginnings
of the Church. Jeff breaks salvation history up into 12 major time periods
and these are covered by reading just 14 books from the bible. When you
are finished with The Bible Timeline, you will be able to understand more
fully those difficult Old Testament readings found in the 1st readings at Mass,
as well as the responsorial psalm. Plus, you will have a sounder grasp of
the New Testament, which will shed light on the 2nd readings and the gospels.
After this bible study, you might find yourself cracking open the bible at home
more frequently, or for the first time! It's that good! We plan to
offer The Bible Timeline again, beginning in January 2009!
Revelation: The Kingdom yet to Come...part
of The Great Adventure: A Journey through the Bible Series
- This will be a one day seminar presented by Tim Gray on Saturday, October
11th, 2008 at St. Francis of Assisisi Parish, Colorado Springs. Ask Gary
for a flyer on this event. Very exciting!!!
Matthew: The King and His Kingdom...part
of The Great Adventure: A Journey through the Bible Series
- Once
again, Jeff Cavins will be featured on this follow-up to The Bible Timeline.
Now that you have a solid grasp of salvation history, you can dig deeper
into the first gospel, the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew will show you how
Jesus builds on the foundation laid in the Old Testament to inaugurate the
Kingdom of Heaven on earth. You will experience how Jesus relived the life
and struggles of Israel to become the faithful and victorious King. We
plan to offer Matthew: The King and His Kingdom in January 2009!
