HSA Board Member Election for 2013-2014 – Coming soon is our 2013-2014 Home and School Board Member Election!  Are you interested in serving on this VERY busy team?  Be looking for an application coming soon and more information on how you can serve!

Ms. Wilson’s Announcement – Our dear Ms. Rebecca Wilson announced Friday to our school that she has Breast Cancer.  Please continue to pray for her and we will let you know how she is doing and ways you can help!

See the Change – See the Change is up and running in our 6th-8th Grade Science Classroom!  Some have wondered how this has been funded!  Holy Spirit is SO GOOD!  This program has been strictly a GIFT and will be from this point forward!  The See the Change Non-Profit Organization has chosen us to represent them as a model for the program and given us a $50,000 grant to do so.  The other $10,000 to run the program has been sponsored by benefactors who believe in not only our children but in the fact that this is a wonderful program our students truly need to be successful in the future!  Our gratitude is immeasurable!

Change in Scheduling – To be able to give our students the very best we can, we will be changing our middle school scheduling as well as the format for our specials programming!  Here’s how it will work – Middle School is going from 8 to 6 rotations (classes) in the 2013-2014 school year!  To do this, we will be combining English and Literature into one class and making Spanish part of the Specials rotations for ALL K-8 students!

This will allow us to offer our middle school students more time each day dedicated to the core subjects!  As always, every decision made is with the needs of our students as our priority!  We believe this will benefit them greatly!  Another great bonus is that ALL K-8 students will receive Spanish on a weekly basis! We believe this will be a wonderful way for our K-8 students to learn more about the Spanish language and cultures around the world!  This will obviously mean a slight change in staffing. After contracts have been completed at the end of March, we will be able to communicate how positions will be filled!
